I recommend finishing the game before submitting it.

There is a bunch of potential in this, look at making a menu screen, credit the music; perhaps waves of zombies instead of the one? Can look at reducing the size of the player and enemies to make some room for some exciting game play.. but for now, this doesn't pass in my eyes.

Good luck recreating it and resubmitting if you don't get through :)

cool game

great work, i would really like to see and expanded version with, the graphics you didnt get to fully implement and complete gameplay adjustment and tweaks to really bring this game to its prime, great idea great work well done!

MonoFlauta responds:

mmm maybe a second part would be a really good idea :P we will see, thanks for reviewing :)

suggestions

there are a few bugs, such as wall hitest, being able to go offscreen
suggestions:
- sounds!
- music!
- add right click disable it was easy to cheat a cheating game ;)
- dont use a motion tween for teacher and rinse/repeat, because thats what you do in the game too, keep hiding in one spot and then goto him, repeat, more options and diversity. a sense of randomness would be cool.
- being able to sit in other chair, but have a bar that take you so long to be able to hide there....more stealth...
- art is good but circles arent the best for the characters ;)
- a waring symbol or curiousity of the teacher would be cool, so once he gets more suspioucious he can then know somethings and have more chance of getting caught.
best of luck

Kwing responds:

Thanks! I'm not adding sounds or music as they take up a lot of space for a PSP game... Well, maybe a few would be alright, and right-click menus don't work in Flash 6, which is required for PSP games.

I also agree that some randomness is important. I'm not sure what I could do to make a system like this, but you've given me a few ideas.

Sitting in another chair? Hmm, interesting idea. I was merely copying the original Classroom but that's not a bad idea.

Circles were used in the original Classroom, plus this is for the PSP... So simple graphics are better graphics.

And yes, different behaviors for different levels of suspicion sound like a good addition. I'll think about that as well.

the regular show

its cool the show is popular and people are taking recognition, of many people favorite character but not in this way. they're all bitmaps and very annoy reoccurring voice over that are bad in quality, i suggest you create something more original and vector art based, if you where to create a parody or something that would be cool, but please dont cut out images from the show and stick it on, its poor and choppy.

DNA117 responds:

I did not want to use bitmaps for my sprites. I did everything in Illustrator, and then realized that the Game Factory 2 does not support vector based images. As for copying images from the show, Yes I used reference pictures, but I did not copy and paste art.

one of the better games ive seen today!

lately games have been quite poor on the portal....this was accually quite fun a interesting the concept was great, and it was easy to just pick up and play i knew exactly what to do right from the start, although the concept of removing blocks multiple colours was cool it should have been explored more...i dont know how it just feels that way.
i got up to level 4 i think and it just got overly difficult too fast, to me.

keep up the good work!

Epic428 responds:

I'm sorry the game got overly difficult for you in such a fast amount of time. Could you elaborate on what it was that caused this? If it was the jumping, please know that we are planning on implementing a new system for jumping that should ease things and make this game much more enjoyable.

We appreciate your feedback very much! Thanks!

its great and all

Pros:
the coding is pretty good, you should really work on the engine, although nowa days your not sure if its your coding

Cons:
the art really needs work, you should consider finding an artist to help you, team work collaboration is always great.
as for the engine, it definitely needs work. please dont keep submitting your alphas.

NoFatAsiansPlz responds:

Don't you worry looking back at what everybody says about this... I improve it a lot! Thanks for the pros and cons, it helped me a lot

favourite game of the jam!

props to your team, love it, seems really polished for 72 hours of work, and the gameplay was brilliant.

molkman responds:

I love you. :)

Really good for a 48 hour game

I find it interesting for a 48 hour game, the concept is really well put togther, and you got a great change in difficulty. But theres so much you can improve on!
The art in the game could use some spicing up, some of the parts are just grey boxes with another white box on top.
The music a 43 second loop after awhile become really annoy especially if your trying to pass a level. it is however unfortunate that the music wild card guy was unable to be a part of the game. this really let you score go down.
The coding for a platformer was pretty well put together in 48 hours but there is so much you could fix up, such as the climbing and the collisions.
It would be great if you guys could team up again and revamp and go over the game again and really take your time you could have a brilliant game to go with this concept.

tomdeaap responds:

Thank you for the complete review.

Great Game

Nice game really good, had fun while it lasted, the only thing i have to pick on is the art felt a bit unnatural and the collecable things at the top so the guys would blow up made the score go down
9/10 - 5/5

Skeik responds:

None of the things make your score go down D: Do they?
